Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park

May 17, 2023 – Rated ★★★★☆

We camped at this RV park with our RV club, and it was a pleasant surprise. The park is nestled among pine trees in beautiful Nevada County. The park has 49 full hookups (50 amps) and 42 water and electric (30 amps) hookups. There is a dump station for the sites that only have water and electric. The sites are gravel and level, however, when the park is full, the sites are pretty close together. Bathroom and showers were clean. The clubhouse is located up on a hill overlooking the park. There is a picnic area and a pond stocked with fish for the kids. Geese, ducks and turtles can be observed around the pond. It is a good place to walk your pets. Since it is right next to the fairgrounds, it is easy to attend any events at the fairgrounds. Grocery stores, restaurants and gas stations are located less than a mile away. We ate at the 1849 Brewery and had a great lunch. Historic Grass Valley and Nevada City are close by and is a great place to explore. Empire Mine State Park is located 3 miles away. This mine is the deepest, oldest and riches gold mine in California. There are tours available and a must to see. Bridgeport Covered Bridge is located approx. 13 miles away. It was constructed in 1862 and was rehabilitated in 2013 due to severe damage from flooding. We enjoyed staying at this park and would definite stay here again.
